Brainstorming

Description

In this brainstorming activity, we will generate ideas that will define the concepts of our group projects. We will start by generating idea lists individually, then, as a group, share all ideas on a pin-up brainstorming board with writing, drawing, post-it notes, and a lot of discussions.

Instructions (See slide 5)

Think back to your previous activities on Cyborg precents and to your previous design, what were the special abilities of the cyborgs? what could be the cyborg abilities needed in the future?

Consider a futuristic scenario and within the realm of your future fiction scenarios, consider the type of superhuman abilities that come to mind.

Things to note as you brainstorm ideas:

  1. Try to propose ideas that are at least 50 years out in the future.
  2. Consider the continued and new types of challenges that the world may be faced with.
  3. Draw inspiration from the evolution of various species we've looked at in class. How have humans evolved and/or adapted to their future scenarios?

Deliverables

At the end of this activity, the group will have created a collective pin-up brainstorming board. With these resources we will be able to form groups (in pairs) for your project! The next studio session will begin with sharing project concepts and partnerships.
