Iteration: a procedure in which repetition of a sequence of operations yields results successively closer to the desired result
An integral part of the design process is iteration, which is the way that designers create multiple versions (or prototypes) of an idea in order to continually improve upon their idea. After each new prototype, we use reflection and feedback to gain new insights on our design in order to make decisions about how to move forward with our idea.
Instructions
In this assignment, you will reflect on your 3 clothing sketches from the previous assignment. Which clothing sketch are you most interested in exploring further through a futuristic lens? Select one of the styles of your garment from your previous assignment and sketch it 3 times (or more), each with a futuristic modification. Use detail, color, and pattern descriptions to help the viewer understand what your design would really look like.
For example, if you chose a hijab design, one iteration could feature a device that keeps the wearer's head cool as the earth heats up from global climate change.
Deliverable
3 iterative sketches of one article of clothing from your chosen country, each featuring a futuristic conceptual addition. Label the drawings with the futuristic addition. Share the images in your Project folder.
